REMIT is a mouse-driven PC-based system that facilitates the entry of NRC Form 5 data into dBASE compatible data base files. The system provides a user-friendly interface with on-line context sensitive help including the full text of NRC's Regulatory Guide 8.7 "Instructions for Recording and Reporting Occupational Radiation Exposure Data" - June, 1992. The system will produce NRC Forms 4 and 5 on LaserJet compatible printers and will also generate Form 5's in electronic format for submittal to the NRC in accordance with Appendix A of Reg. Guide 8.7. REMIT also has the capability to import data files from your dosimetry processor and will update the yearly dose record for the individual automatically from these records. REMIT will also import/export electronic Form 4 data to assist in the transmittal of dose information from one site to the next.

The REMIT system also includes more esoteric functions such as the calculation of dose from intake, dose limit monitoring, and dose to extremities. The internal dose calculational model is based on EPA Report #11 and the entire dose conversion factor library is included in the package. REMIT will calculate dose from intake for inhalation or ingestion and will record the maximally exposed organ. Dose information is compared with regulatory or administrative limits and will alert the user if the doses are in excess of the applicable limits. Licensee-wide or individual-specific administrative limits may be set, but they cannot exceed regulatory limits. Dose to individual extremities can be recorded and the system will track and record the maximally exposed extremity.

REMIT was produced under contract to the NRC. The NRC is solely responsible for the distribution of this software and user manual.
